Synopsis
Drawing on the essence of traditional Chinese dance, Hong Kong Dance Company weaves together two classic music compositions and choreography by Artistic Director Yang Yuntao and Dance Master Xie Yin, in an ode to love and life from a unique Hong Kong perspective.
Experience Four Seasons where the dancers embrace the music with light movements as the cycles of life come and fade, different stages of life interrogated. The Butterfly Lovers embodies the Chinese nuances of love through a combination of Chinese dance and modern style – the helplessness and longing in waiting, the wonder and beauty of meeting, the tears and grief of separation, the romance and poignancy of steadfastness.
