Synopsis

Commemorating the 40th Anniversary of the Classic Film A Chinese Ghost Story

Whether through the classical literary masterpiece Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio or Tsui Hark’s iconic 1980s fantasy film A Chinese Ghost Story, the undying love between Nie Xiaoqian and Ning Caichen continues to move audiences with lingering emotions. In 2027─the 40th anniversary of the Hong Kong classic film A Chinese Ghost Story ─the grand dance drama L’Amour Immortel returns for its fourth run. At this significant point in history, the production also pays a heartfelt stage tribute to our beloved “ Gor Gor”─the late music and screen icon Leslie Cheung.

Through passionate and enthralling dance vocabulary, contemporary arts technology, and visual aesthetics, accompanied by a captivating melody interwoven with Leslie Cheung’s soul-stirring voice, the production revives the immortal love story between human and spirit transcending life and death. Amidst passion and love, virtue and courage ─“In this mortal world, how many directions do beautiful dreams take? Searching for my beloved in a dream, the road stretches endlessly”─ the classic tale is transformed into an eternal collective memory, creating an everlasting stage masterpiece.
