Born in Penang, Malaysia, Lee Kok Liang graduated with First Class Honours from the School of Dance (Major in Chinese Dance) at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.
Lee has been active in international dance and interdisciplinary art projects, collaborating with various artists including Hong Kong Ballet Master Yuh Egami. He participated in dance projects integrating augmented reality (AR) technology, such as The Way We Dance and The Way We Share. He also performed in Colossus, a collaboration between Stephanie Lake Company and Hong Kong Arts Festival. During his time in Europe, he took part in Maher Abdul Moaty’s project BETWEEN HERE AND THERE - From conflict to choreography at Uferstudios in Berlin, and performed in BROWN-1 with Tanz Company Gervasi at the Salerno Danza Festival in Italy.
From 2023 to 2024, Lee worked as a full-time dancer and contemporary dance instructor with the Ballet Company of Divadlo F. X. Šaldy in Liberec, Czech Republic. He later joined the production of The Little Prince, choreographed by Anne Tournié and Chris Mouron, touring with the company across multiple countries.
Lee continues to pursue choreographic creation. His work Daydreamer: Two Lost Souls in a Fishbowl was selected for a residency program in Linz, Austria, and he was invited by Dance Ensemble Singapore to create The Parts We Refuse.
Joined Hong Kong Dance Company in 2026.
