Hong Kong Dance Company celebrates our 2025/26 season with a momentous double anniversary—marking the 45^th year since our Company’s founding and the 20^th anniversary of our Children’s and Youth Troupes. This milestone invites both reflection and gratitude for our journey thus far, and more importantly, a renewed commitment to explore the limitless possibilities of dance as an art form.

This season’s motto, “Dance Transcending Self”, underscores our pursuit of artistic freedom through the body, honouring the cultural essence of Chinese heritage while reaching towards new artistic horizons. It reaffirms the profound power of dance as a bridge between cultures. We proudly welcome the return of our award-winning A Dance of Celestial Rhythms, inspired by the intangible cultural heritage of the Chinese calendar, to open the season. Following that are three brand-new productions: Kung Fu Artistry —Bruce Lee’s No Way as Way, Peony Pavilion Awakening and In Between —Wu Guanzhong’s Ink Odyssey. Each pays homage to a pioneer of cultural imagination: martial arts philosopher Bruce Lee, theatrical master Tang Xianzu, and ink painting virtuoso Wu Guanzhong. Though hailing from different disciplines, each of these artists boldly expanded frontiers in the aesthetic realm. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of our Children’s and Youth Troupes, Panda-rama, our season finale, will charm families citywide. With lovable pandas at its heart, this imaginative family-friendly music and dance production delivers a vibrant message of unity and inclusion, inviting young dancers to take part in our new milestone with enthusiasm and positive energy.
