Synopsis
The local comic legend Storm Riders, which resonates so deeply with the collective memories of Hong Kong people, celebrates its 35th anniversary. Hong Kong Dance once again collaborates with the comic creator of Storm Riders and renowned manhua artist Mr Ma Wing-shing, to bring the classic martial arts dance drama STORM CLOUDS back to the stage after nearly ten years. The 2025 version will utilise cutting-edge multimedia projection technology, sophisticated lighting, an award-winning musical score, and a stage design featuring a gleaming pool of water to evoke the breathtaking and dynamic atmosphere of the story, vividly reconstructing the comic realm and bringing audiences a truly memorable visual experience.
STORM CLOUDS comprises extracts of the most thrilling parts of the story. The fierce battle between Bo Ging-wan (Cloud) and Lip Fung (Wind), the ethereal movements of heroine Hung Chi, the enthralling dance, and the ambiguities of a complex love triangle left audiences wowed the first time round. The debut was highly praised and won several trophies at the Hong Kong Dance Awards 2015. Now the phenomenal show, combining dance, drama, and martial arts, is making a sensational return to the stage at Xiqu Centre, WestK!
We are grateful to have Ekin Cheng and Cheng Tan-shui Lawrence joining us for a Special Appearance at the Charity Performance, and Chan Kwong-wing as the Guest Composer to re-arrange the theme song Yi Dui Dui in the dance drama.
