Shimmer
Co-presented by Hong Kong Dance Company & Passoverdance
Synopsis
Founded by Hong Kong Dance Company (HKD), “8/F Platform” is a dance laboratory that embraces choreography, performance, education, demonstration and multi-disciplinary collaboration.
Passoverdance runs Arts Voyager, a 3-year dance education programme which launched in 2015, aiming to nurture talented choreographers by providing progressive training focusing on choreography and techniques.
A collaboration between Passoverdance and HKD had emerged from this fruitful artistic relationship between both organizations on the idea of nurturing creative minds and skills. This year's show, Shimmer, will see six young talents, Vivian Chang, Katrina Chiang, Imelda Cheng, Cherry Shing, Sun Wing-sze and Olivia Wong, presenting their own contemporary dance choreographies based on their creative ideas and concepts developed last year, under the guidance of Artistic Director of HKD Yang Yuntao, Artistic Director and Associate Artistic Director of Passoverdance Pewan Chow and Gabbie Chan and Programme Director Cherry Leung. Professional dancers from HKDance, Lee Chun-hin and Ng Yuen-man will also be joining them to take the choreographers’ individual works to new heights.
