Synopsis

Where Martial Arts Finds Its Way, Dance Knows No Boundaries
A Contemporary Interpretation of Bruce Lee's Martial Philosophy

HKDance is proud to present the grand dance drama 𝙆𝙪𝙣𝙜 𝙁𝙪 𝘼𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙮—𝘽𝙧𝙪𝙘𝙚 𝙇𝙚𝙚’𝙨 𝙉𝙤 𝙒𝙖𝙮 𝙖𝙨 𝙒𝙖𝙮, which spectacular tribute to the martial arts legend Bruce Lee. Performed by professional dancers who have undergone years of rigorous martial arts training, the work interprets Lee’s martial arts philosophy and spirit through a dynamic fusion of strength and grace. The two-week premiere at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Grand Theatre in November and December 2025 was highly anticipated and has attracted more than 8,000 audience.

The production brings together a stellar team of Hong Kong’s artistic talents: Artistic Director Yang Yuntao joins hands with renowned art director Man Lim-chung (winner, Best Art Direction at the Hong Kong Film Awards) and celebrated jazz composer Patrick Lui to create a cross-genre collaboration. This vibrant blend of martial arts and dance, multimedia stagecraft, and jazz elements showcases Hong Kong’s vibrant confluence of cultures East and West while honouring and carrying forward Bruce Lee’s legacy in the martial arts.

The programme receives support from the China National Arts Fund 2025 for the creation of large-scale productions, bringing the spirit of wu dao — the path of martial arts — onto the stage, etched in light and shadow.
