Chou Jo-yun

Chou Jo-yun was born and raised in Taiwan. She graduated from Taipei Municipal Fuxing Senior High School, majoring in Dance in 2014. She then majored in Chinese Dance at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and graduated in 2018. Chou studied under full scholarships and worked with numerous choreographers such as Zhang Xiaoxiong, Gao Chengming, and Raewyn Hill. She participated in the dance project In The Amorphous Beings at the George Town Festival in Penang in 2017. Chou joined Hong Kong Dance Company (HKDC) in 2018. Recent performances include one of the main cast members in Myth of the Dancing Durumi, A Tale of the Southern Sky, Convergence, Shan Shui: An Ode to Nature, Nine Songs, and “8/F Platform”: Jing. She was also a researcher for HKDC’s Research Study on Chinese Martial Arts and Chinese Dance and now participates in the Dance and Martial Arts Research Team.
