Tai Chon-u
Dancer



Born in Macau, Tai Chon-u has trained in Chinese dance since thirteen years old. He attended the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts on a full scholarship, majoring in Chinese Dance and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) in Dance. During his studies, he participated in the Academy’s performance tours in Malaysia and Macau. He has also performed in numerous school productions, including Yellow Earth Yellow River (excerpt), Drum, The Snow, Red Fan, The Butterfly Lovers and Thousand Lives.
Tai joined Hong Kong Dance Company in 2022 and promoted to Full time dancer in 2023, recent performances include Nezha: Untold Solitude, Myth of the Dancing Durumi, Shan Shui: An Ode to Nature, Twirl of the Heartstrings, All About of The Three Kingdoms, 8/F Platform - Trivia Perhaps, and performed in Convergence with the company in Beijing and Urumqi. He was also a researcher of HKDC’s Research study on Chinese martial arts and Chinese dance.
