Outreach and Education

Hong Kong Dance Company has always emphasized the importance of arts education, and thus created the Outreach and Education Department at its incorporation. Apart from promoting dance art in schools, the Company’s outreach and education work also includes a variety of activities including school touring performances, workshops as well as artist-in-residence projects. The company also provides opportunities for students to participate in performances so that students can acquire on-stage experiences, enriching their lives through performing arts. Besides, the Outreach and Education Department offers courses for different age groups, such as courses preparing for the Beijing Dance Academy Chinese Dance Graded Examination and some Evening Dance Courses, aiming to better serve the community.

With regards to arts education for children and youngsters, Hong Kong Dance Company has established the Children's Troupe and Youth Troupe to cultivate interest on Chinese dance for the next generation. We have launched a pilot scheme of one-year dance courses, hoping to establish a systematic teaching model for promotion to other schools.
