Children / Youth / Young Persons' Troupe BLOG

Hong Kong Dance Company Children's Troupe

Hong Kong Dance Company Children's Troupe was established in 2006. The Troupe now has about 200 members aged 6 to 12. Our aim is to nurture the artistic interest of students through professional dance training courses and to raise their standard of appreciation in the art of Chinese dance. We strive to build up children's sense of co-operation and inspire their confidence and enthusiasm in dance. Children's talents are uncovered through training in dance performance, competitions and stage presentations.

Hong Kong Dance Company Youth Troupe

In 2008, based on the development of the Children's Troupe, the Hong Kong Dance Company established the Youth Troupe to nurture artistic talents and to raise the standard of performance in Chinese dance. Troupe members are between the age of 13 and 17. Our aim is to raise the overall standard of artistic knowledge and dance techniques through training and actual performance. We nurture student's personal quality, self-confidence and the sense of co-operation through systematic and intensive training, dance competitions as well as stage performances.

Hong Kong Dance Company Young Persons' Troupe

The promotion of Chinese dance in Hong Kong has always been the mission of the Hong Kong Dance Company. In 2006 and 2008, the Dance Company had successfully established its Children's Troupe and Youth Troupe respectively. In the same direction of nurturing young talents, we establish the Young Persons' Troupe, recruiting young persons between 18 to 32 years of age who are passionate about Chinese dance. The Troupe will have expert advisers and experienced performers and tutors to provide focused and professional training for members. Multiple activities and multi-layered cultural exchanges will be organized. Stage performances will be produced to demonstrate members' dance talents and to raise their affection for Chinese dance. The Hong Kong Dance Company will march hand-in-hand with its Young Persons' Troupe onto a new platform of Chinese dance art.
